When the suspect was produced before Fort Magistrate Pasan Amarasena on Wednesday, investigators provided an update on the ongoing probe. Officials informed the court that extensive inquiries are still underway and revealed that statements have yet to be recorded from a further 50 individuals related to the case.
After considering the submissions presented by the Central Crimes Investigation Bureau, the court ordered that Bandara remain in remand custody until October 7 while investigations proceed.
