Train operations connecting Colombo to Kandy are scheduled to officially resume in January as rail rehabilitation efforts progress, according to Sri Lanka Railways.

General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways Raveendra Pathmapriya announced that immediate steps have also been finalized to restore rail connectivity to other key destinations, with services to Peradeniya and Gampola set to recommence starting tomorrow.
