The Speaker is slated to receive the confidential ruling on Monday, September 21. Ahead of the announcement, a key Party Leaders’ meeting chaired by the Speaker will convene at 9:00 a.m. on Monday to discuss and outline the parliamentary business for the upcoming week.
According to earlier announcements by the ruling party, the debate on the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution alongside the Bill to amend the Judicature Act is expected to take place over two days, on September 24 and 25.
The upcoming presentation follows the conclusion of court proceedings on September 2, when a five-judge bench of the Supreme Court finished hearing a series of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the proposed legislation before reserving its ruling to be sent confidentially to the Speaker.
