Pine Labs has teamed up with WEBXPAY to launch Unified Payments Interface (UPI) payment capabilities for merchants across Sri Lanka. The initiative enables retail and commercial businesses in the country to support digital payment flows powered by the UPI network.

Under the collaboration, WEBXPAY’s merchant network will be integrated with Pine Labs’ payment technology solutions to process UPI-based transactions. This deployment expands digital transaction methods available at checkout points, allowing merchants to seamlessly accept payments from customers using UPI-enabled applications.
Key Developments
- Merchant Integration: Sri Lankan merchants operating on WEBXPAY are now enabled to process UPI payments directly.
- Payment Infrastructure: Pine Labs delivers the technology architecture required to execute and settle cross-border UPI transactions.
- Cross-Border Accessibility: The rollout enhances digital commerce connectivity, facilitating frictionless mobile payments for international visitors and shoppers.
The introduction of UPI acceptance in Sri Lanka reflects ongoing efforts to scale interoperable digital payment frameworks across international borders, equipping local merchants with modern payment acceptance channels.
