Bus fares will remain unchanged following an announcement from the National Transport Commission confirming that the latest upward adjustment in fuel prices will not lead to an increase in public transport costs.

Addressing the decision in Colombo, the Chairman of the National Transport Commission, Eng. P. A. Chandrapala, stated that the recent rise in the price of a liter of diesel during this month’s fuel price revision was not substantial enough to warrant an adjustment to existing bus fares. Consequently, passenger transport rates will remain firmly in place without any upward revision.
