More than 187 acres of State-owned land in Kankesanthurai, Jaffna, have been formally handed over by the Security Forces for civilian administration, unlocking strategic real estate for economic development and future commercial investments in the Northern Province.

The parcel comprises 187.56 acres belonging to the State Cement Corporation, situated in Grama Niladhari Division J/233, Kankesanthurai West, within the Valikamam North (Tellippalai) Divisional Secretariat Division. The Sri Lanka Army had utilised the land continuously since 1997.
Official documents formalising the transfer were presented to Jaffna District Secretary M. Piratheepan by Colonel W. M. A. M. Nissanka, Officer in Charge of Civil Affairs at the Security Forces Headquarters – Jaffna, Palaly. The official handover took place at the Jaffna District Secretariat on Wednesday, September 30.
