The Sri Lankan Rupee (LKR) experienced a minor depreciation against the US Dollar (USD) across major commercial banks in Sri Lanka on Thursday, pushing the average selling rate up to around Rs. 334 compared to the previous trading session.

Most commercial financial institutions revised their exchange rate boards upward for both buying and selling transactions on Thursday morning.
At Sampath Bank, the buying rate rose from Rs. 325.00 to Rs. 327.00, while the selling rate increased from Rs. 333.00 to Rs. 335.00. Meanwhile, People’s Bank reported a buying rate of Rs. 325.93 (up from Rs. 324.70) and a selling rate of Rs. 334.01 (up from Rs. 332.75).
NDB Bank adjusted both its buying and selling rates upward by Rs. 1.00, setting them at Rs. 325.25 and Rs. 334.25, respectively. At Commercial Bank of Ceylon, rates ticked up by 50 cents, bringing the buying rate to Rs. 323.60 and the selling rate to Rs. 333.50.
Bucking the trend, Seylan Bank maintained unchanged rates, keeping its buying rate at Rs. 325.65 and its selling rate at Rs. 334.90.
